MBSR TRAINING

Starting 29th October 2020

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week course that developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at UMass Medical School’s Stress Reduction Clinic.

The objective of the training is to learn to be more connected to ourselves: our own minds and bodies, and with life around us.

The training helps us recognise and manage the patterns and behaviours that are generating stress in our day to day, helping us live a more present life.

Participants attend weekly sessions of 2h30 for 8 weeks. A silent day is planned at the end of the training.

Each session consists of guided practice, group reflection, and inquiry.

During the course, participants will be asked to practice at home, daily, with the support of audio meditations.

  • Week 1 – Exploring Mindfulness

  • Week 2 – How we perceive the world and ourselves

  • Week 3 – Being at home in our own body

  • Week 4 – What is Stress?

  • Week 5 – Stress: reaction or mindful response?

  • Week 6 – Mindful communication

  • Week 7 – Taking care of ourselves

  • Week 8 – Looking backward, going forward

Time: Thursdays: 7 pm – 9:30 pm + Sunday 6th December: 10 am – 4 pm

Coverage (Insurance / Company)

I’m a VMBN (Vereniging Mindfulness Based Trainers Nederland en Vlaanderen) Mindfulness trainer (category 1) and some health insurances cover part or the full cost of mindfulness courses. Please check with your personal insurance if you can benefit from that coverage.

Some companies may support part or full cost of mindfulness training as part of their training budget - check with your HR manager if this is an option for you.

About Me

My name is Estelle Augustyn, and I am a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction certified teacher from the Institute for Mindfulness-Based Approaches (IMA) in Germany.

I graduated with a Master’s in Management of Human Resources, and I have 15 years of experience in the HR management field.

I came to mindfulness and the MBSR technique after trying many other options to recover from a bad burnout brought by my professional life.

After seeing the positive effects on my road to recovery, I decided to become a trainer myself so I could bring the benefits of mindfulness to individuals and companies.

Although I am originally from France, I will lead this MBSR course in English.

You will receive a ZOOM link in advance. Just click on the link. It is not necessary to download ZOOM.

Technical tips for the online session 

  • It’s better to use your laptop or desktop for a better viewing

  • Check it before to make sure video, mike and speakers are working

  • If you have a head set, do not hesitate to use it

 

How To Be Really Present: some tips !

  • Imagine that you are away from home so that your full concentration can be during the introduction session

  • Prepare your learning space beforehand (you can sit on the floor, on a chair or on your sofa)

  • Please join the introduction 5 minutes before start time. You can always join the ZOOM room and then go and make a cup of tea!

  • ·Get yourself comfortable and prepare everything that you need (water, papers near you, cushions, blanket)
